Some of my teatowels are getting ratty, so I picked up a five pack at Canadian Tire last week. They are all solid neutral colours. I had the bright idea of doing a little embroidery motif in the corner of each, but then I have all those bits and pieces of cool vintage prints...
I really like the way they turned out! And they were really fast, too. I'll save the embroidery thing for something else, I promise.

i'm all about stuff with scraps. this is a very cute project. did you machine sew the scraps on?
Yes- machine sewn. Zigzag stitch over the raw edge. Fast and dirty, but they are coming through the wash just fine!
this is a fantastic idea and it turned out so well. I think the applique is a little less precious than embroidery--which is a good thing for a tea towel!
Great images, and the colors work beautifully with the towel colors. You used the same technique on the bibs you made for Mirren, and 7 years and another baby later they are still like new.
